October 25 2015 at 8 03 pm in our last tutorial we added the interior walls to a basic 2d floor plan that we drew in sketchup from a pdf plan file. In this tutorial i will explain how to draw a floor plan in sketchup accurately and to scale from measurements taken on site of an existing space. When i it comes time to turn your sketches into reality you may want to use sketchup to model your sketched floor plan to 3d in this tutorial we ll show you exactly how to take a floor plan sketch and turn it into a 3d model in sketchup. I will demonstrate the technique i use with measurements i took of the floor plan from my own house.
